This policy explains what information Meckatron LLC (“Meckatron”, “we”, “us”) collects through meckatron.com, how we use it and the choices you have.
Who we are
Meckatron is a product design and engineering firm. Our US office is at 1985 W. Henderson Rd., Columbus, OH 43220, and our engineering center is at 1204, NSTP, NUST, H-12, Islamabad, Pakistan. You can reach us at hello@meckatron.com or +1 380-251-0042.
What we collect
- Information you send us. When you use our contact or consultation form, we collect your name, email address, phone number, company if given, and your message. If you email or call us, we keep that correspondence.
- Usage information. Google Analytics records how visitors use the site: pages viewed, time on site, device and browser type, approximate location (city or country) and how you reached us. It also records when a form is submitted. We do not receive your full IP address through Analytics.
- Cookies. The site uses cookies and similar technologies for analytics and to keep the site working and fast. We do not use remarketing or personalized advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry, prepare quotes and deliver projects you engage us for
- To understand which pages are useful and improve the site
- To keep the site secure and prevent spam
- To meet legal and accounting obligations
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for automated decisions about you.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the site and our business, under their own privacy and security terms:
- Our website host and WordPress plugins that store form entries and send email
- Google Analytics, to measure how the site is used
- Our email provider, to send and receive messages
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others. Project information you share with us stays confidential, and we sign a non-disclosure agreement on request.
International transfers
Our team works in the United States and Pakistan, and our service providers may process data in other countries. Where we transfer personal information across borders, we take reasonable steps to keep it protected.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries and project correspondence for as long as needed to respond and deliver work, and for up to 2 years afterwards for our records, unless the law requires longer. Analytics data is kept for the period set in our Google Analytics settings.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop contacting you, by emailing hello@meckatron.com. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have further rights, including objecting to some uses or complaining to your local data protection authority. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on.
Children
Our site and services are for businesses, not for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Security
The site uses HTTPS, and we limit access to enquiries to the people who need them. No website is completely secure, so please don’t send highly sensitive information through the contact form; ask us for a secure route or an NDA first.
